What is IIFFOQ?

The Founder and Artistic Director of Indian International Film Festival of Queensland (IIFFOQ), Mr. Chayan Sarkar, is an independent film maker of Indian origin living in Australia. India is the largest producer of movies in the world. Indian cinema is going through a transition where the focus is towards making quality content with global appeal. This film festival creates opportunities for Indian film makers to connect with the Australian audience and Australian film industry. The interaction and cultural exchange through quality cinematic expressions are vital in the development of creative and innovative film content. IIFFOQ's vision is to gradually make Brisbane a hub for recognising new talent in Indian cinema and strengthen the creative industry links between Queensland and India exploring future co-productions and creative collaboration.

When and where?

The Indian International Film Festival of Queensland 2018 will be held in Brisbane from Nov 23 to Nov 29. The movie screenings will take place at Elizabeth Picture Theatre. For exact movie screening times and session bookings, please visit: fivestarcinemas.com.au

In 2017, the festival organised two film forums and a VIP Bollywood themed party at The Wheel of Brisbane, Southbank.

IIFFOQ 2017 will be inaugurated and attended by Indian fashion legend. designer, Mr. Narendra Kumar (Nari). Nari's debut film The  Marriage of Shayla Patel will also premiere at this year's festival. Nari will also lead the jury for the Competition section of IIFFOQ 2017. Click here.
